About the CLAY Code
The CLAY Code outlines what it means to be a Christian League of Athletics for Youth and defines the fruit of the Spirit* in those terms. All coaches, officials, parents and volunteers must agree to abide by the CLAY Code as a condition of participation.
* "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)
Who We Are
Christian - faith-based, God-centered, Jesus-focused.
League - a group of like-minded people and organizations promoting the same goals.
Athletics - sports, recreation, competition, healthy lifestyles.
Youth - from kindergarten through high school, our mission is our kids.
What We Stand For
Love. Show love for those you know, and those you don't.
Joy. Take joy in the achievements of your child, his or her teammates, and their opponents...no matter how small.
Peace. Allow peace to override the "heat of the game".
Patience. Players, coaches and officials will not always make the play or call you would...but since it's just a game, it's OK.
Kindness. Not everyone will always do it right. They might need better training...or they might be doing the best they can.
Goodness. Players don't always see the "big picture." Draw them one that draws them in.
Faithfulness. Be true to Who We Are (see above).
Gentleness. Be fair in talking about others. If it's not nice, don't say it.
Self-Control. Do not allow your actions to be swayed by outside influences.
